One of the biggest problems plaguing PvP players elden ring Right now is AFK rune farming. If you don’t know what that is, it’s basically when an Elden Ring player sits in an incredibly hard-to-reach area and is ambushed by other players, whether through the use of a Furlcalling Finger Remedy or the Taunt’s Tongue. The player then sits back and waits for the invader to get bored and give up, die trying to reach him or be killed by another player who comes to defend the host, giving him free runes as “reward” gives.
As you can imagine, those hoping to just ambush other players and engage in some good old-fashioned PvP are becoming increasingly frustrated at how many people are now trying to swindle free runes from invaders. In fact, the problem is so widespread that the Elden Ring subreddit is chock full of people sharing ways on how to deal with these pawns and using every weapon in their arsenal to punish them.
There are far too many examples to go through individually, but one of the more common seems to be using the Jar Cannon and blowing people off cliffs, as demonstrated by Redditor shiba219808. If you can’t use the Jar Cannon or just don’t have it, Redditor probadplayer has shared his method for defeating roof lurkers using the area of effect attack with Mohgwyn’s holy spear. Other examples include using Melania’s hand to leap down to reach an otherwise inaccessible area to melee them, while others use spells as they fall to gain themselves a minor victory.
FromSoftware has been patching Elden Ring fairly consistently, so hopefully a fix is in the works before things get too out of hand. Until then, invaders must stay on the hunt for cunning peasants, but these examples might give you a good idea of what to do if you encounter one yourself. Good luck, troubled one.
