The Dow Jones Industrial Average rose amid positive ceasefire talks between Russia and Ukraine. Visa (v) and Nike (FROM) were the best blue chips. Robin Hood (HOOD) exploded after it expanded its offering to fuel growth.
Volume was higher on both the New York Stock Exchange and the Nasdaq. This is positive on a bullish day.
Meanwhile, the yield on the benchmark 10-year Treasury note rose eight basis points to 2.4%. Oil also fell again, with West Texas Intermediate crude falling about 2% to nearly $104 a barrel.
Putin agrees to this amid positive talks between Russia and Ukraine
Markets were buoyed by positive developments from the latest round of ceasefire talks between Russia and Ukraine.
Russian President Vladimir Putin has agreed to meet with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy after negotiations are completed, according to chief Russian negotiator Vladimir Medinsky.
Russia has said it will limit operations near kyiv and the city of Chernihiv as a show of goodwill, though the move falls short of a ceasefire.
kyiv also presented a proposal for neutral status and international security guarantees.
The positive developments came after Ukrainian and Russian negotiators met face-to-face for the first time in two weeks on Tuesday.

Most S&P sectors were in positive territory. Only the energy was in negative territory. Technology and consumer discretionary were making the best gains.
Indeed, small caps were the brightest performers, with the Russell 2000 rising 2.5%.
However, growth stocks fared worse. The EII 50 Innovative ETF (FFTY), a gauge of growth stocks, was only up 0.6%.
Dow Jones Today: Visa, Nike Stock Shine
The Dow Jones Industrial Average also rose. He gained about 250 points, or 0.7%.
Visa was the best performer on the Dow Jones today. It jumped more than 3%, moving above its 200-day moving average in the process. according to MarketSmith analysis.
Shares of Nike were also doing well, up just over 3%. This action jumped over his 50 day moving average but remains below the 200-day line.
Robinhood stock soars on late-hours move
Robinhood shares were having one of their best days as they were up around 25%. This was a high volume move, a bonus for investors in the security.
It benefited from the news that it is extending the hours that users can trade between 7am ET and 8pm ET.
The brokerage, which targets the retail investment market, is trying to combat slowing growth.
Robinhood is also looking to offer 24/7 trading, although it is not yet clear when this will be offered to users.
The action seeks to reach rivals such as charles schwab (BLACK) and Fidelity, which already offer broader after-hours trading.
HOOD shares remain in negative territory for the year and continue to fall more than 80% from their all-time high of 85, reached in August of last year.
These actions prove the buying points
Costco shares trade below its entry after earlier moving above a weekly chart cup with handle entry of 566.85.
the actions relative strength line has been making progress since mid-January. The stock has good earnings and performance in the stock market.
TI safety stock Qualys is in a buy zone after passing a cup handle entry of 143.04.
The RS line here just hit a new high, which is a positive. However, the volume was lower, which is a flaw.
The overall performance is strong for Qualys shares and institutional investors have been buying the shares of late.
The Robert Half International staff services game is also actionable after moving from 120.99. This was also a cup with a handle base.
Earnings growth has been particularly strong here of late. EPS has grown in a average of 144% in the last three quarters.
